Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry and Functional Materials

Prof.Peng Ren

Peng Ren was born in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China. In 2004, he was admitted to Nankai University to study chemistry. He joined Prof.Peng Cheng’s lab to study metal-organic frames when he was just freshman. After bachelor graduation, he began his doctoral study under the guidance of Prof. Xile Hu at the Federal University of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland until 2012. Between 2013-2015, he conducted postdoctoral research in the group of Prof. Andrew Weller and Prof. Michael Willis at Oxford University and then with Prof. Brad Carrow at Princeton University. In September 2015, he was hired as an associate professor by Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen). The Ren group performs research in the area of organometallic and coordination chemistry. His research interests include:(i) Metal–organic frameworks for gas adsorption, catalysis, and sensing; (ii) well-defined catalysts for organic synthesis; and (iii) functional polymer synthesis.
